Major Full Home Renovation
This major renovation project celebrates the home’s original 1960s charm while thoughtfully weaving in modern design elements. By preserving key features like the iconic yellow brickwork and pairing them with a refined, contemporary colour palette, we were able to elevate the home’s functionality and style, without losing its retro soul.
The transformation involved a complete internal restructure, smartly reconfiguring the layout to improve flow and usability. Extending the footprint allowed space for a generous new kitchen and butler’s pantry, and helped improve the functionality and flow within the home. While modern exterior additions, such as Colorbond accents were chosen to complement the existing bricks and unify the old with the new.
The kitchen was relocated from a tight central position to a more open, inviting zone, enhancing circulation and creating a harmonious connection between living spaces. The result is a home that beautifully balances mid-century character with sleek contemporary finishes, offering comfort, style, and practicality for years to come.
Today, the completed project features a fully reimagined kitchen, butler’s pantry, dining area, living room, outdoor entertaining space, study, entry, two bedrooms, bathroom, and a new master suite complete with ensuite and walk-in robe.
Keep reading to hear from Sheena Hanks, our interior designer, as she shares insights into the client brief and how these ideas were brought to life in the final design.
